Capturing Open Water Swimming in Krabi
The sea was calm that morning, with soft light reflecting on the surface and the sound of water moving gently with each stroke.
This project was about capturing an open water swimming event in Krabi – but for me, it was more than just documenting the activity. It was about observing moments that happen quickly and naturally.
Each swimmer moved through the water with their own rhythm. Some were strong and fast, while others moved slowly, focused on every breath. The splashes, the light, and the quiet background of the ocean created a scene that felt both powerful and peaceful at the same time.
Photographing this kind of moment requires patience and attention. The movement is unpredictable, and everything happens in seconds. I had to stay ready, watching closely, waiting for the right moment when the motion, the light, and the feeling come together.
One of the things I enjoy most about this kind of work is capturing something real. Nothing is staged. Nothing is repeated. Every image is a moment that only happens once.
This is what I love about lifestyle and activity photography — telling stories through real experiences, in a simple and natural way.
